NEW INVESTMENT AT OUR PRACTICE

PATIENT PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT

We are delighted to announce that following an extensive effort by the practice over the last few years we have finally been granted approval by NHS England for a Practice extension.

From NHS England's Primary Care Infrastructure Fund, we have been given a grant for two thirds of the cost of this project - 279142.00.  The remainder of the cost is being met by the practice.  We are aiming to complete this project by August 2017.

We appreciate that you as patients have been very supportive of the practice over the years - modernisation and extension is long overdue.

This will enable us to update and modernise the practice for you.  We will also be able to provide you with better access, more appointments and additional services.

THE ESTATE AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFORMATION FUND IS DESIGNED TO IMPROVE GP PREMISES AND TECHNLOGY TO GIVE PATIENTS A BETTER SERVICE.

pills1Requests for repeat prescriptions should be made on the computer printed request form, which is attached to your last prescription. You must give at least 48 hours (2 working days) excluding weekends and bank/local holidays before collecting your prescription. The number of hours from requesting a prescription to availability for collection by patient is 72 hours or less (excluding weekends and bank/local holidays)

Preston Road Surgery cannot accept prescription requests over the telephone. You may leave your request with the receptionist or include a self addressed stamped envelope, which we will use to post back your prescription.

You may arrange collection through your preferred chemist if you wish.

Electronic Prescription Service – now available

This practice is now able to offer the Electronic Prescription Service, so if you nominate a pharmacy, your GP will send all future prescriptions electronically to your preferred pharmacy.

If you would like to take advantage of this service and haven’t yet completed a nomination form.  PLEASE CONTACT RECEPTION FOR MORE INFORAMTION.  You don’t need a computer to do this.

This will not affect the way that you order / request prescriptions.

Online Services -  Prescription Request

Please speak to the receptionist to enrol you for online services.  This will enable you to request your repeat prescriptions online. And will save a trip to the surgery to drop your paper request.
