Requests for repeat prescriptions should be made on the computer printed request form, which is attached to your last prescription. You must give at least 48 hours (2 working days) excluding weekends and bank/local holidays before collecting your prescription. The number of hours from requesting a prescription to availability for collection by patient is 72 hours or less (excluding weekends and bank/local holidays)
Preston Road Surgery cannot accept prescription requests over the telephone. You may leave your request with the receptionist or include a self addressed stamped envelope, which we will use to post back your prescription.
You may arrange collection through your preferred chemist if you wish.
Electronic Prescription Service – now available
This practice is now able to offer the Electronic Prescription Service, so if you nominate a pharmacy, your GP will send all future prescriptions electronically to your preferred pharmacy.
If you would like to take advantage of this service and haven’t yet completed a nomination form. PLEASE CONTACT RECEPTION FOR MORE INFORMATION. You don’t need a computer to do this.
This will not affect the way that you order / request prescriptions.
Online Services - Prescription Request
Please speak to the receptionist to enroll you for online services. This will enable you to request your repeat prescriptions online. And will save a trip to the surgery to drop your paper request.
